The Cup of Life

Welcome to the CUP OF LIFE AFL footy tipping competition.

Unlike other footy tipping competitions in which scores are updated weekly, scores in the CUP OF LIFE are kept secret until an end-of-season presentation dinner. At this dinner, scores are read out and tallied on a week by week basis. This means CUP OF LIFE competitors enjoy an end-of-season tip counting night similar to the Brownlow Medal when the CUP OF LIFE winner is crowned.

Good luck.

The Cup of Life Rules

1. Tips for the upcoming round must be entered via our website and are required a minimum of one hour before the round commences. The onus is on YOU to submit your tips every week.

2. Once your tips are submitted, you cannot change your selection. This includes Saturday mornings after teams have been named etc. This makes it fair on all tipsters, so be sure of your tips first time.

3. If a tipster fails to submit their tips before the required deadline, they will receive the lowest score of the round. Remember this could prove very costly to your overall tally at the end of the season, so make sure you get your tips in early every week.

4. One point will be awarded for a correct tip. No points will be awarded for a draw.

5. If a tipster fails to submit their tips 7 times or more for the season, they are ineligible for last prize.

6. There will be no refund of the registration fee if a tipster drops out of the competition once the AFL season has commenced. Tipsters unable to attend count night are still eligible for prizes.

7. Registration and entry fees for each tipster must be provided at Season kick-off.

The Cup of Life Cost

To come along to this year’s CUP OF LIFE end of season Presentation Dinner, the cost will be $35 for adults and $10 for children under 14.

The Big Guess

Welcome to the CUP OF LIFE ‘The Big Guess’ competition.

Unlike other footy tipping competitions in which tips are provided weekly, tips in the CUP OF LIFE ‘The Big Guess’ are provided before the start of the season. And, instead of trying to tip eight winners from each round, you are only required to tip one winner. Below are the rules and objectives of the competition.

Good luck.

The Big Guess Rules And Objectives

1. Tips for the season must be entered via our website before season kick-off.

2. You are only allowed to select one team from each round of AFL football - and that team must win for you to escape elimination.

3. You cannot choose the same team in consecutive rounds. For example, you cannot choose Brisbane to win in rounds one and two. You can however choose Brisbane in round one, Hawthorn in round two and Brisbane again in round three.

4. Your chosen team must win for you to remain in the competition. If the team you have selected for a particular round loses, you are automatically out of the competition. For example, if you choose Essendon in round one and they lose, you are out for the rest of the season. If, however, Essendon wins, you continue on in the competition.

The last person standing wins first prize.

Big Guess Cost

The cost to play in this year’s CUP OF LIFE ‘The Big Guess’ is included in the registration fee. The winner (or winners) of the competition will be awarded a prize at the end-of-season CUP OF LIFE presentation night.
